We live in Pflugerville, but took a road trip to San Antonio today just to visit the Pullman Market (FOODIE TRIP!!). It truly was a foodie adventure, especially with the Pearl Farmer's Market happening at the same time!
Pullman was wonderful! Great little grocery area with many local items such as Barton Spring Mills flour and Tx Hill Country Olive Oil. They have a bakery, butcher, fresh local produce, tortilla making, italian, restaurants, and fast food areas.
Bakery - top notch! We got a chocolate croissant and cinnamon roll. Both were SO good!! It was hard to pick because there were so many drool worthy choices! My Husband also got a pour over coffee which he enjoyed!
Butcher - the aging area (can see through a viewing window) shows many meats that are in the process of aging. They also have berkshire pork (hard to find locally), wagyu beef, and a seafood counter. We almost bought the scottish salmon - looked very good. But we stuck to the wagyu cuts, some bone marrow, and berkshire pork rib chops.
In the Italian area, they sell cheeses, fresh pasta, cured meats and other goodies. They also make pizza to take out, as well as eat in at Fife and Farro. We had gotten there early - before the crowds hit so it wasn't open yet.
We spent some time wandering in the farmer's market, then came back inside to eat lunch at the Burgers By The Butcher. This was a bit of a miss though. They had just opened, and there was only one woman running the counter and cooking the orders. She was moving very slowly - and was trying to cook too many orders at once. Long story short, my burger (the Wagyu) was cold and Hub's sandwich (The Halloumi) was not cooked enough and was cold. The fries also had the same issue. The taste was good, but it was a shame she messed it up. I did let the concierge know (there was no manager at the counter)...and didn't let it dim our great experience! Next time we would try the Fife and Farro instead!
I'm giving it 4 stars because google doesn't have 4.5! The main reason for the 4 was the burgers. But we would still go again and just not go back to that specific eatery.
