I booked a table for one over the phone as you can’t book online. The restaurant is quite small with a handful of tables and some bar seating, which gives it a really relaxed, family-run feel.
I started with the Caprese salad. The burrata was about the size of my fist and was incredibly fresh and creamy. The tomatoes were sweet and full of flavour, and there was olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table if you wanted to add a little more.
For my main, I had the Margherita con Buffalo. It was honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The base was light with a lovely chew to it, the tomato sauce tasted really fresh and the buffalo mozzarella was delicious. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the hardest to get right, but they absolutely nailed it.
I finished with the tiramisu, which was the best I’ve ever had. It was light, creamy and full of coffee flavour without being too sweet. I would have happily ordered another one.
The service was friendly, the food came out quickly and the whole place had a welcoming atmosphere. I can completely understand why this restaurant is so highly rated. If I’m back in Edinburgh, I’d definitely return.
