Sammie’S

Sammie’s in Austin is everything you hope for in a classic Italian restaurant…timeless, welcoming, and packed with unforgettable flavors. From the beautiful atmosphere to the attentive service, every part of the experience felt elevated and memorable. The Caesar salad deserves a category of its own. It was, without question, the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp romaine, an incredibly rich and balanced dressing, just the right amount of Parmesan, and outstanding croutons…it was so good that it could have been the main course all by itself. The chicken piccata was another absolute standout. Tender, perfectly cooked chicken paired with a bright, buttery lemon-caper sauce that was bursting with flavor. It’s one of the best versions of this classic dish I’ve ever enjoyed. The eggplant Parmesan was good, but compared to the other dishes, it was just OK. It was well prepared, but it didn’t quite have the same wow factor or depth of flavor as the Caesar salad and chicken piccata. Be sure to save room for dessert because they are spectacular. Beautifully prepared, indulgent, and the perfect ending to an outstanding meal. Every bite felt like the perfect finale to an already incredible dining experience. Between the exceptional food, outstanding service, and warm, sophisticated atmosphere, Sammie’s Italian is a restaurant that absolutely lives up to its reputation. It’s a place I’ll happily return to…and I’ll definitely be ordering that Caesar salad again.

This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion! The aesthetics were the vibe here! As soon as we walked in on a Monday night, it was so loud and dim. You can still hold a conversation though. We all ordered our own plate but you can definitely share it family style if you’d like. The Caesar salad was so delicious! Everyone in my party liked their plate with the exception of the chicken Parmesan plate. My aunt said it lacked flavor and seemed like a fried chicken breast with cheese on top and tomato sauce. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so nice and attentive. I will be back for a special occasion.

We had a great night at Sammie’s Italian during SXSW hosting the Plantman and Blondie cast and crew dinner. The patio out front under the glowing neon sign gave the whole evening a timeless, classic Italian feel. The Caesar salad was fresh and loaded with parmesan, the mozzarella sticks were nostalgic and delicious, and the pasta dishes were rich and comforting. Dessert sealed the deal. Sammie’s really nails that old-school Italian restaurant vibe—great food, warm service, and a relaxed but lively atmosphere. It was the perfect spot to gather the crew after a big SXSW day.

Sammie’s feels like stepping into a classic, old-school Italian supper club in the best way. The pasta is rich and perfectly executed, the seafood is fresh, and the martinis just hit different here. The dim lighting and retro vibe make it ideal for a date night or celebratory dinner. Service is polished and attentive, which elevates the whole experience. It’s indulgent, a little glam, and absolutely worth it. Keep in mind it’s very noisy here 😉

Mr. Blake behind the bar was so warm and welcoming! We drove in from Dallas, this is my all time favorite Italian restaurant. It was my husband’s first time in, and it was well worth the drive. Every dish we had was incredible. Such a magical place!!
