The fish market was still cleaning up when we went. The fish tastes so fresh as if they bought it there this morning. I would skip the lemon mayo. Not a taste for me and detracted from the flavor of the fried calamari. Excellent caponata di pesce, but it was weird that I didn’t know what kind of fish was in there. Maybe sardines. But the eggplant was perfect. Order at the window and then have a sit and they bring it to you.
Exceptional food with a variety of options. The salads are bright and acidic and full of flavor. The fried dishes are hot and light- not oily and very crispy. The salt level and lime take it to the next level. Scirocco Lab also had very friendly and fast service. Just a consistently delicious & enjoyable experience. My only negative is that I am not from Catania and so I cannot eat this at least once a week 💔
This places is not as good as it seems. They have a good menu and great prices; however the Seafood is overcooked. And no one should be at any “top” list if they do that. Additionally, the place is near to fish market, so the smell might be disturbing for some people. It could be a good alternative for cheap street food, considering if you’re ok with overcooked seafood
Beat place to eat in Catania! Original and fresh sea food! The staff are friendly and very welcoming! Been there 3 times in 5 places in our trip. Highly recommended!!!
In the heart of Catania you will find this fantastic place. We got cous-cous with mixed seafood and mixed fried seafood, both delicious authentic Sicilian food in excellent quality and very good price.
