Stockyards Bar is a lively country-western bar and restaurant located in Downtown Fredericksburg, known for its energetic atmosphere, live music, karaoke, line dancing, and a mechanical bull named 'Buck Norris'. It offers a fun night out with food and drinks.
Customer Perception
Customers generally praise the delicious food, strong drinks, and the vibrant atmosphere, especially the live music and dancing. Specific servers like Alyssa, Emali, and Kelsie J have received commendations for excellent service. However, some reviews note that weekend nights can be extremely busy, leading to long waits and a very loud environment. There have been mentions of less attentive hostess staff on busy nights and suggestions for increased security due to the lively crowd.
The bar features a mechanical bull, affectionately named 'Buck Norris', which adds to its unique country-western entertainment. It's a popular spot for live music, karaoke, and line dancing in Fredericksburg.
For a quieter dining experience, weekday evenings (e.g., Monday) are recommended. For those seeking a lively country-western bar experience with live music, dancing, and the mechanical bull, Friday and Saturday nights, as well as 'Sunday Funday', are ideal, though expect crowds and potential waits.

I went to Stockyards this past Saturday with a couple of people who were interested in live music, we were all interested in getting food. After standing in line, I tried to put our name on the waitlist for a table. The girls at the hostess stand, who were more interested in what was happening on Instagram, rudely told me to just go to the bar. I literally had to convince them to put my name on the list for a table. The bar vibe is just basically Jay's with a country theme. After about an hour and a half of waiting, we just took our name off the list because a small group sitting at a very large table offered to share with us. Our server, Alyssa was amazing!! If you want to go eat I would definitely ask for her to serve you. We like all of the drinks and appetizers that we got. If anybody from the restaurant is reading this I would definitely recommend more security on the inside, this is Fredericksburg and people do some shady things. Also if you frequent here on the weekends be careful, on my way out I saw the cops sitting down the street with binoculars watching people leave. And people were definitely leaving very drunk and loud. Overall, we decided that we'll go back just not on a Friday or Saturday night.
Amazing service and delicious food —
Stockyard is doing the damn thing!
We had a fantastic experience at Stockyard in Fredericksburg. Our waitress Emali, was on point from the moment we walked in — warm greeting, great recommendations for both drinks and food, and attentive service the entire time. She made the visit feel effortless and enjoyable.
The drinks were a highlight — I loved the blackberry margarita, perfectly balanced and refreshing. For food, I had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich with onion rings, which was flavorful and satisfying, and my husband devoured the Korean BBQ wings and loaded fries. Everything arrived hot and tasted excellent.
Between the friendly, professional service and the standout flavors, Stockyard is absolutely doing the damn thing. If you haven’t been yet, YOU should! Highly recommend for a great meal and a fun night out.
We were there early (5:30pm) on a Monday so it was pretty dead but the food and service (Kelsie J was our server) were very good. Will definitely be back for the music & dancing
I ate here for lunch with a colleague. I had the club and it was amazing! Nice and open, bar area is beautiful, there is a dance floor and a mechanical bull so we will be back one night for dancing. The chicken tacos were also delicious!
Great food and atmosphere. They had plenty of help they just got backed up in the kitchen. I have waited longer at other places for food so the wait on food was not bad. The drinks from the bar were good and strong meaning not the ole water down no alcohol version of the drink you asked for. I didn't stay to hear the band but the acoustics in the building where not that great IMO. But without staying i can't really comment on the sound other than it's noisy.
