A different kind of steakhouse experience than most people may expect. The setup is more like a fast-casual or cafeteria-style restaurant rather than a traditional sit-down steakhouse—you order at the counter, grab a table, and the food is brought out. It actually works well if you’re looking for a quicker meal without the long wait of a full-service restaurant.
I ordered the steak medium well, and they cooked it correctly with a nice sear and good flavor. It was seasoned a bit heavier on the salt and pepper than I personally prefer, but it still had a good taste overall. The meal came with a fresh side salad, loaded baked potato, and Texas toast, making it a filling plate and a solid value for San Francisco.
I also tried the chili, which was surprisingly good—hearty, flavorful, and definitely worth adding to the meal. The food looked fresh and came out in a reasonable amount of time.
Overall, Tad’s Steakhouse is a good option if you want a satisfying steak meal in a casual, no-frills environment. While it may not have the atmosphere of a traditional steakhouse, the food quality and convenience make it worth checking out. I’d definitely return.
A solid and satisfying spot for my very first meal in the US! It gets pretty crowded, but the vibe is still great. Just a heads-up: the steak runs a bit rawer than usual, so order medium or medium-well if you want a true medium-rare (though I personally didn't mind the extra rare cut!). Also, you must try the cheese omelet—it tasted exactly like a crispy Korean cheese potato pancake and was absolutely incredible.

This small steakhouse is a different tank than normal steakhouses. You go to the counter and order your food and then they bring it to you. We ordered the Tad’s steak- Well done with baked potato and side salad. I am not a big fan of bone-in steak but it was good and seasoned well. I like the way this is set up, helps keep cost down for the restaurant. We shared the steak meal and added an extra baked potato, it was plenty for the both of us.

Outstanding Ribeye and Eggs! Delicious flavor and seasoning. The melted butter made it awesome. Added cheese and avocado. $50 for a 5-star steak breakfast on a Sunday morning. Highly recommend!

Affordable and delicious steak or grilled meat, the staff are mostly friendly when taking your order over the counter, and they have a nice bar. Some isssue that I always face will be having my steak doneness over my preference. Likewise every thing is great and I strongly recommend to come for a causal and quick lunch or dinner.
