It is a special restaurant with brewery attached. The beer is superb. We ordered the tower 3 liter. Tom yum seafood I would rate 7/10. The stir fry morning glory is crispy, 8/10. Pork knuckle is crispy on the outside and tender inside, 9/10. Best of all is there is performance and live band whole night long. Love it!
What an incredible experience! The show was absolutely spectacular, grand, vibrant, and incredibly entertaining from start to finish. The food was delicious, and I would definitely come back again.
The atmosphere of the beer hall is something special. From the moment you step through the entrance, the bright, lively lights immediately set the tone and welcome you into a fun and festive environment. It instantly makes you feel excited and ready to enjoy the night.
The service was outstanding. The staff were professional, attentive, and quick. They even helped us move to another table so we could have a better view of the stage, which we really appreciated.
The stage performances were fun and diverse, with impressive lighting and full production effects. We stayed for over 3–4 hours and didn’t feel bored for a single minute. In fact, we wished we could have stayed even longer if the place hadn’t closed!
This is definitely a place I would recommend to friends, and I can’t wait to return.
Night time approached, it was time for dinner. Matt recalled having a great time at a German pub with his ex-colleagues on his last trip to Bangkok and suggested to try.
After finishing our photo session and doing our deeds, the sun started to set and everyone was famished. The German beer hall was evidently huge yet filled to the brim as it was Saturday night.
Fusion of great German and Thai foods were great and the selection of German beer was excellent to say the least.
◾Deep fried pork knuckle was excellent - crispy skin with juicy meat underneath. All left were bones in the end.
◾Deep fried catfish with mango salad - bringing crunchiness to next level. Loved to dip into the sauce.
◾Spicy soup with shrimps and mixed vegetables - Imagine tom yum in clear soup, a clear northern style.
◾Thai Claypot Glass Noodles with Shrimp - I couldn't stop slurping the glass noodle that absorbed the sweetness of the fresh prawns and the savoury sauce.
◾Steamed seabass sour & spicy sauce was a balanced dish with the still flaky flesh.
◾Yam desserts
I had forgotten how many beer towers that we opened that night while watching live performance.
Throughout the night, the atmosphere got livelier and of course, noisier as everyone started to drink more. We made friends with a group of local Chinese-Thai next table - ended up drinking too much and got back to accommodation in drunken state.
Pretty big beer place with lots of entertainment shows. Service was great , quite thoughtful in many area. Food was a but pricey, but given that shows provided, no issue. Overall satisfied.
Great Entertainment at a German Beer Brewery Restaurant in Bangkok
I’ve been to Tawandang many times with my friends and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, especially the Thai dishes. They also offer Japanese sushi and sashimi, which are surprisingly good, and their German food is well-prepared too.
One of the highlights is the live singing and dancing entertainment, which is included at no extra charge. The atmosphere is always lively and fun.
The staff are friendly and provide efficient service. While they don’t automatically add a 10% service charge, we usually tip both the staff and the performers, such as the singers, to show appreciation.
Prices for food and drinks are a bit higher than average for Bangkok, but it’s understandable given the quality of the food and the live entertainment included. This is one of the best spots in the city to enjoy a night out with friends. Highly recommended!
