The Corner Store is a highly sought-after New York City restaurant known for its elegant yet classic ambiance and innovative cocktail program. Reservations are notoriously difficult to secure, contributing to its significant hype. It's considered a perfect spot for a date night, offering an upscale dining experience with Americana vibes.
Customers generally find the restaurant lives up to its hype, praising the elegant atmosphere, attentive service, and innovative martini program. The Lobster & Caviar roll and Samoa sundae are frequently highlighted as standout dishes. While many find the food quality good to phenomenal, some reviewers felt it fell slightly short of their high expectations given the difficulty of securing a reservation, with a few dishes described as average or bland. Prices are generally considered reasonable for most items, though some, like the porterhouse and Dover sole, are noted as expensive.
The restaurant features a unique and innovative martini program. Despite its popularity, there is no dedicated bar seating for early arrivals to have drinks before their table is ready. The service is consistently praised for being very good and accommodating.
Given the extreme difficulty in securing reservations, any available time slot is considered ideal. One reviewer suggested arriving before opening if one has time to wait, implying it's busy even for walk-ins or early arrivals. Dinner is the primary meal mentioned.
