Visiting after Paris leaves the bar pretty high, but this wonderful little seafood restaurant (franchise? chain?) delivers. Daily specials (catch of the day, etc.) An simply high-quality foods satisfies on multiple levels. My fiancée and I thorougjly enjoyed our first day in Amsterdam, thanks to this gem. I started with the "Lobster Soup", which was as good as any lobster bisque I have enjoyed in Maine. I followed that with the Halibut special, which was simply heavenly and extremely tender (and served with a choice of sides..... I chose the garlic potatoes..... Yumm!). My fiancée had the Cesear Salad with hot smoked salmon, which was loaded with salmon and a few anchovies (optional) and parmesan (also optional), which she loved. We finished with dessert, having lemon creme brulee and cheesecake. Both exceptional. We hope to be back before we leave the country.
An excellent choice for seafood lovers in Amsterdam. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, all exceptionally fresh and of outstanding quality. Everything is cooked to perfection, showcasing real attention to detail. The staff is super friendly and genuinely goes out of their way to accommodate every request. The modern minimalist décor is stylish yet still feels warm and cosy, making the whole experience both refined and comfortable.
The Seafood Bar did not disappoint with the food and the overall experience in this restaurant. It had a cozy ambiance with friendly and attentive staff. The cod fillet with pumpkin and beurre blanc was absolutely delicious! The fish was cooked to perfection and all the flavours complemented each other beautifully. I also recommend ordering the lemon crème brûlèe. It was light, refreshing, and a great way to end a meal!
A good sign of any seafood restaurant is to first look at the clientele. If you see a large proportion of Asian people that is an indicator you are at the right place. Very discerning folk. That said, this place did not disappoint. Excellent service and it had a great vibe. Started with octopus and then Fried Kibberling. Both tasty and a refreshing beer too, perfect. Recommend.
First off, service is great and the food lives up to expectation. We had the mixed grill and oysters. While the mixed grill is excellent, the oysters disappointed a little; some of them were not fresh.
We ordered the oysters during the happy hour and it only cost EUR1.5 each. It was a good deal.
We were seated at the fresh seafood bar, and it was a wonderful experience seeing how hectic it can be.
The service team are just so attentive and polite.
