The gimlet is a cocktail primarily composed of gin and lime cordial. Historically, descriptions from the early to mid-20th century often specified equal parts gin and lime juice. Modern preparations can vary, with some versions featuring up to four parts gin to one part lime cordial, resulting in a less sweet drink.
