The Clumsies

Out of all the bars recommended in Athens, The Clumsies came out on top. With a glowing recommendation, my mother-in-law and I walked in on an August Tuesday around 9pm and got a small table by the bar with no problem. Service is top notch and we never had to wait to be served or ask for our bill. The bartender was friendly and walked us through the menu. The cocktail menu is organized well and comes with descriptions of each cocktail. For a more complex sweet and sour drink, order the Passiflora Fumida. It comes in a plastic valve that you pour into a glass with ice. It was delicious and unique! However, my mother-in-law found her lemon drink too salty. If you’re hungry, get the corn fritters. They are delicious!

As anyone is entitled to one's option I can honestly say I'm underwhelmed - from the ambience to service... typical drinking establishment, no more. I tried Aegean negroni and original one. IMHO the original wins ten to one. Aegean negroni is their signature drink and was invented in this exact bar...I tried it... would I order it again? No.

Just a brilliant bar! Great cocktails, delicious bar food, and we were really well looked after by Thanos. The Mediterranean gimlet is a must try!

This pub has a bar and seating area, but it wasn’t very welcoming when I arrived alone. I would have preferred to sit in the bar area. When I asked for help, I was offered an empty lounge. Later, when I ordered food, the staff was more attentive. The music was nice, the food was okay, and the crowd was pleasant. If I ever find myself in Athens again, I’ll definitely return.
