Casa Domingo is a popular coastal restaurant located directly on the magical Playa de San Juan in Alicante, offering fresh seafood and traditional Spanish rice dishes with unique flavors. It boasts a lively, 'buzzy' atmosphere, incredible panoramic sea views, and is frequented by locals. The restaurant features both a bar and a dining area, making it suitable for various dining experiences.
Customer perception is generally positive, highlighting the great atmosphere, fresh seafood, and excellent service. Many praise the value for money and the stunning sea views. Specific dishes like 'chopitos' (fried baby squid), fresh salted prawns, and the 'arroz Domingo' are highly recommended. However, some reviews indicate mixed opinions on the paella, with a few finding it lacking flavor or having hard rice. There were also isolated negative comments regarding the quality of beef, fish soup, and beverages.
The restaurant is a local favorite, often recommended for its authentic Spanish coastal cuisine. It's easily accessible from Alicante city center via a short tram ride. The focus is heavily on fresh, high-quality seafood and traditional rice dishes, which are referred to as 'arroz' in Alicante, distinguishing them from Valencian paella.
Casa Domingo is a must-visit for lunch, especially on weekends, when it can be very busy. Reservations are highly encouraged, even during the winter season, due to its popularity. The restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere during peak hours.
