A fun, modern Izakaya experience. Definitely catering to a western crowd with their dishes, so I would reccomend for a non traditional take on Japanese food. I did find a most of the dishes very sweet, but for people not living in Japan it might not be noticeable. The dishes do come out quite quickly, compared to traditional fine dining places, more attune to a traditional Izakaya experience, two or more at a time. Watching the chefs in the kitchen is definitely a highlight, and their energy was fun to partake in.

One of the best meals we’ve had, PERIODDDD!!!! Amazing food, great and quick service. Just a great place!!! We definitely recommend. We chose the wine paring with the omakase and it was the best choice. Every single thing we had was incredible. We will definitely be back.

I would rate 10 out of 5 for their food, service and vibe if I could!!! We had their “TAKE” omakase which was great value for 12 dishes. Each dish was amazing in its own way. The wagyu beef and the dumplings in pumpkin sauce were the highlights for me, and my boyfriend’s favorite was the fried cheese sticks with mushroom sauce. I highly recommend the bar seats on the first floor if you enjoy watching the chefs cook. I’m impressed by their dedication to the food and the communication among the whole team. Their food is innovative and refreshing, if you’re looking for Japanese-style fusion cusine, I highly recommend checking Censu out! The staff were super friendly and attentive. They play hip-hop music (mostly from the 90s), the fun and chill vibe really made them stand out from the other traditional Japanese restaurant we tried. I’m so glad we decided to make a relocation here after walking by it during their closed time but were curious because of their cool exterior design. Overall, we had an amazing experience thanks to the whole team at Censu!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Censu Tokyo Went here to celebrate a birthday and tried the omakase with wine pairing. Overall, we were very satisfied with the selection. For the price (around ¥15,000), this is actually very reasonable compared to other omakase places that can easily go ¥30,000 and above. Considering the cost, the experience is excellent value for money. It’s important to set expectations — if you’re comparing this to ultra high-end omakase, you’re missing the point. There were about 10 dishes, and a few really stood out: * Foie gras — the highlight for me. It literally melted in my mouth. Paired with crispy bacon and strawberry, the flavors worked surprisingly well together, each element complementing the other. * Spinach with peanut sauce — unexpectedly good. * Zucchini dish — simple but well executed. * Fresh oyster — a surprise for me. I usually don’t enjoy oysters, but this one didn’t have that strong “sea” taste, so it was very approachable. Just to manage expectations: this place feels more like a casual, bar-style dining experience, not fine dining. So don’t expect a formal setting — you’re here for the food and creativity, not the ambiance, chairs, or music. Also, a few dishes were served close together. If you prefer a slower, more traditional pacing, you can let them know. That said, the chefs still delivered a solid experience. Overall, a great value omakase — worth trying if you want quality without the premium price tag.
