Food was mid and very pricey for what it was, the decor was nice, the staff was pleasant enough but clinical, awkward, and rambly about the food as stated in another patron’s review. My friend got there about four minutes early and was told they would allow him to have a seat despite being early (??? the place was empty on early Saturday evening, but that’s very kind of them I suppose….). The gyudon was an overpriced dry yoshinoya beef bowl, and a tiny bowl of super salty shelled edamame being $7 is… ridiculous. The fish with fennel salad was actually the best and most innovative dish. But yeah, if I didn’t have good company to enjoy the dinner with, I would have fallen into depression from this experience. I’m sorry - I want to support small businesses but some places are just not hitting the marks, and these 5 star reviews and influencer reviews are super sus… go to Tsukiyo sushi in Koreatown or any other Korean sushi place in Koreatown and you’ll get innovation and better deals.
