seriously never feel the need to complain but this hotel left me no choice. The Jaffa is extremely understaffed, horribly organized, and the employees clearly have not received any five star training. They barely even smile.
For our wedding weekend, the hotel convinced us to cancel our 870 dollar booking and rebook at more than four times the price with promises of a Bridal Suite upgrade and special services. None of those promises were delivered.
As for the bridal package, the most important part is being able to take pictures. Just so you know, everyone else is taking pictures and nothing is closed off for you. Anyone can walk right through your shoot. They take advantage of you simply because you are the bride. If you were not in a bridal dress, you would not need to pay anything for the same access.
The staff was shockingly unhelpful. After our wedding, we arrived late at night exhausted and were told there was no bellboy, so we carried everything ourselves. We asked for an iron at 8 AM on the morning of our wedding and did not receive it until 4 PM as we were checking out. Towels took hours as well.
VIP parking was broken, my car got stuck, and they asked for cash with no receipt. Several employees even admitted we were misled.
For a hotel claiming to be luxury, this was embarrassing and unacceptable. Not recommended at all. There is so much more to say, this is only a portion of how bad the experience really was. It is a shame because the hotel is so beautiful, but whoever is managing it is ruining it completely.
I emailed the hotel. They called me and promised they would see what can be done about this situation in terms of compensation and never got back to me
One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
The Jaffa is the perfect mix of historic charm and modern luxury. The building itself is stunning, and the courtyard feels like a calm, escape right in the middle of the city.
The amenities are perfect, beautiful pool, great courtyard, relaxing yoga classes, and excellent food. The pool area in particular is gorgeous and really well designed.
The location is ideal: a short walk to some of the best restaurants, close to all the energy and nightlife of Tel Aviv, yet surprisingly quiet at night. Many spots in the hotel also have lovely sea views.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms are beautiful, very comfortable, and full of historical charm, which made the experience truly special.
The staff was outstanding: Aviad was incredibly helpful and amazing in arranging all the preparations for our special event. Ruth was very kind, attentive, and always made us feel welcome.
In the restaurant, Andrea and Elias made our experience unforgettable with their excellent service and warm attitude. Food was delicious!
The Jaffa, TLV
The Jaffa stands out as a property defined by refined taste and understated luxury. The blend of restored historical architecture with contemporary design creates an atmosphere that feels both collected and quietly distinguished.
The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully arranged, and visually balanced — an environment that encourages comfort without unnecessary flourish.
Its cuisine is another strong point. Fresh ingredients, clear flavors, and precise execution form a kitchen that speaks confidently through its craft rather than through theatrics.
Equally notable is the overall mood of the hotel: calm, measured, and assured of its quality. Service remains attentive while maintaining a respectful distance, which contributes significantly to the sense of ease.
For those seeking a sophisticated and well-composed hotel experience in Tel Aviv, The Jaffa is certainly among the finest.
I had one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had at The Jaffa. I had to change rooms four times - the first and second were dirty with large stains on the sofa and dirt on the counter, another had a broken TV, and the final room had water damage. One morning, while brushing my teeth, I suddenly felt water on my feet - there was a leak in the bathroom. I ended up waiting in the lobby for nearly two hours at 7am while maintenance tried to fix it instead of moving me to a new room.
The hotel itself is architecturally stunning and clearly had great potential when it first opened, but it’s no longer maintained well. From what staff told me, there was a recent change in ownership, and unfortunately, it shows - management and service have gone downhill. Every employee that I spoke to has complained as well and was very unhappy working there. They were not surprised I had so many issues.
When I checked in, the front desk employee was extremely unpleasant and unhelpful. They didn’t explain anything about the property - not where the elevators were, not breakfast hours, not even basic safety information in case of an alarm. The last room I was moved to was on the first floor which smelled terrible, like urine, and the bed was so hard and uncomfortable that I barely slept the entire stay.
To make things worse, an employee promised to arrange a complimentary taxi to the airport. Instead, they booked a car that overcharged me - the driver told me he had to pay the hotel a commission, which explained the inflated price. I ended up spending most of my vacation at the front desk resolving issues and on the phone with American Express while on vacation trying to resolve it
Overall, this hotel could be great, but it’s poorly managed, not well maintained, and the service is nowhere near what you’d expect from a five-star property. I would not stay here again and I highly recommend you stay away. This is not a cheap hotel and really not worth nearly what they charge. What an horrific experience.
