George & John is an upscale Israeli dining establishment located within the historic Drisco Hotel in Jaffa, Tel Aviv. As a proud member of Relais & Châteaux, it offers a high-end experience with a Parisian ambiance, blending Tel Aviv's multiculturalism and the chef's Jewish-Moroccan heritage. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine list with approximately 250 labels and an elegant, refined style.
Customers consistently praise the excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, and professional service, often calling it one of Israel's finest dining experiences. While expensive, many consider it absolutely worth the cost. However, some reviews highlight occasional service inconsistencies, such as billing errors or unfulfilled promises, and a few guests have found the dish variety or food quality inconsistent on certain visits.
George & John is situated on the ground floor of the historic Drisco Hotel, which became a Relais & Châteaux member in 2023. The restaurant's name honors the brothers who founded the hotel in 1866. Its cuisine blends Chef Tal's Jewish-Moroccan heritage with Mediterranean influences, utilizing seafood sourced directly from Tel Aviv's Carmel Market. It features a wine list with approximately 250 premium local and international labels.
Reservations are highly recommended, especially for peak dinner hours, due to its popularity.
