We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and while it was a memorable evening, we likely won't be back.
The ambiance was my favorite part. It has a cozy, unique, and peaceful atmosphere that made it feel like a special occasion. The service was also warm and attentive throughout the meal.
We opted for the four-course menu. Throughout the evening, the kitchen also brought out several small complimentary bites between courses, and interestingly, we found many of those to be more enjoyable than some of the dishes on the tasting menu itself.
We started with the lamb tartare, which we enjoyed, though it leaned a bit bland. The scallop was cooked perfectly, but the vegetable pairing didn't quite work for us. The croque madame featured delicious caviar and Ibérico ham, but it felt overpriced considering it was served on a slice of bread with only a small amount of each.
The pork course was probably the most underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but it was very middle of the road. The meat was a bit dry, and for the main course, we expected something more memorable. My husband's trout ended up being the best dish of the night. It was beautifully cooked, paired well with the vegetables, and the sauce was perfectly balanced.
Both desserts were just okay, and I didn't finish my strawberry mocktail because it wasn't very enjoyable.
Overall, we left feeling that the food and drinks didn't justify the $450 price tag. We genuinely loved the ambiance and appreciated the great service, but we expected more from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The meal had its highlights, but it didn't consistently deliver the level of creativity or execution we were hoping for, especially since several of the complimentary bites ended up being more memorable than the four-course menu itself.
