L'antica Pizzeria da Michele, founded in 1870 by Michele Condurro, is a historic Neapolitan institution renowned for its authentic, traditional pizza. It's considered a symbol of Neapolitan pizza and is known for its simple menu, focusing on just two classic pizzas: Margherita and Marinara. The restaurant boasts a lively, convivial atmosphere and is recognized as 'The Temple of Pizza'. It is also noted for being the first pizza certified by BLOCKCHAIN for its ingredients and supply chain.
Customers consistently praise the pizza for its authentic Neapolitan taste, thin and soft crust (described as 'Rumali roti thin'), and excellent value for money (around €6 per pizza). Many describe it as delicious, light, chewy, and very filling. While some find it 'overhyped' or not 'outstanding,' most agree it's a must-visit for a true classic Neapolitan pizza experience. The service is generally described as efficient and fast, despite often long queues, especially during peak times. The atmosphere is seen as warm, honest, and comforting, though it can be crowded, and takeaway might sometimes be the only option.
L'antica Pizzeria da Michele is celebrated for its commitment to tradition, offering only the most classic Neapolitan pizzas. It holds the distinction of being the first pizza certified by BLOCKCHAIN, ensuring the verified origin and quality of its ingredients. The establishment has expanded globally, with locations in various countries, but the Naples original remains the historic 'temple' and a symbol of authentic Neapolitan pizza.
To avoid long queues, it's best to visit during non-touristy times or outside of typical lunch and dinner rush hours. Queues are common during peak lunch and dinner times, but visiting at off-peak times can allow for immediate seating.
