Osteria Mozza

This place is pricey but completely worth the cost. We have the Mozzarella Caprese with pesto (phenomenal!), Little Gem lettuce with green goddess dressing (great!), shaved brussel sprouts with almonds (great!) I had the Rigatoni and they subbed the pasta with gluten free pasta (spectacular!) My wife had the Swordfish, she said she loved it. For dessert we shared a butterscotch budino with caramel sauce (🤤) this was the perfect end to our meal. I would definitely recommend and if in the are again will certainly go back. The service was outstanding, staff was always ready to refill water, remove plates and clean up any little mess made but did not hover at all. Pricey but completely worth it.

I was really excited to try Nancy Silverton's restaurant! I have followed her for decades and know she is an icon in the industry. We had reservations a month or so prior. Visiting from Texas. The first impression was a bit disappointing because we came in and the first greeter looked us up and then kind of disappeared. Then we had another greeter come and ask our information again. After about 20 minutes of standing in the area where you could buy olives, we finally got seated. The bar was crowded and loud. We were seated in the outdoor area which was very nice. All of our servers were sincerely so kind and pleasant. I was just surprised because we were seated at 9pm and the service felt quite rushed. They encouraged appetizers. We ordered arancini and warm olives after we ordered drinks. The appetizers came and we finished them before our drinks ever arrived. It's really nice to sip on a cocktail, visit, then have the first bites. That was a bummer. Could have done without the arancini. The caesar salad was so delicious and unique!! The caprese moz, okay. My date had the duck confit and I had the sausage fennel orchetti. Delicious. I was surprised by the amount of diners who were on their phones from start to finish. I know that isn't the restaurant's responsibility - but I really hope chef's like Nancy will pioneer a plan to end the excessive phone use. It is really sad. People should get the hell off their damn phones and enjoy some food and wine together! :) ox (Oh, the focaccia was too good! Oh my gosh! Delicious carb indulgence - crisp, light, and mmmm that salt!!)

Washington, DC – Georgetown Restaurant: Osteria Mozza We hadn’t planned dinner and happened to walk by this beautiful, vintage-looking building that immediately caught our attention. Curious, we stepped inside and discovered Osteria Mozza—a stunning space with a great atmosphere and energy. We added our name to the waitlist and headed to the bar for a drink. While waiting, I wandered through the market area and was pleasantly surprised to find many of my favorite Italian products—the kind I usually bring back from Italy—so it was a real treat to see them here. Once seated, the experience only got better. Our waiter, MARCO, was exceptional. What was supposed to be a quick, simple meal turned into a full dining experience thanks to the passion and detail with which he described the menu. His recommendations were spot on, and we ended up trying a bit of everything—a salad, a pasta, and an entrée—all delicious. Of course, he convinced us to finish with dessert (even though we were supposed to start a diet), and we’re very glad he did. The wine selection was also excellent—he guided us to a Sangiovese that paired perfectly with our meal. This is definitely a place we’ll return to. Marco also strongly recommended the focaccia and the burrata bar, so we already have a great excuse for our next visit.

Stopped in for brunch and really like the atmosphere and brunch menu - in part because of the non-traditional items along with some standards. Our waitress was fantastic and we followed her advice - including trying a waffle…that she described her first bit as “oh my god, what am I eating!”. She was correct - worth it. A little pricy but worth it. Hope to be back.
