Pine Hall is a rooftop bar and restaurant located at the top of Hudson's Detroit on Woodward, offering skyline views of the city. It is described as Detroit's rooftop bar, providing strong drinks, cold beer, and proper food with classic roots. It is the debut project in Detroit for Union Square Hospitality Group, bringing a touch of NYC sophistication to the city.
Customers consistently praise the amazing views and great cocktails, including mocktail options. The food, such as crab fritters, steak, and toffee pudding, receives positive feedback. Staff members like Shea and Ms. Aerie are noted for being friendly, kind, accommodating, and providing top-notch service. However, common themes in reviews include issues with the seating and reservation system, long lines, and a clunky check-in process, particularly during busy times. Despite these initial challenges, many customers find the experience worth the wait, highlighting the 'bougie friendly' ambiance and photo-worthy setting.
Pine Hall is situated within the prominent Hudson's Detroit development. It aims to provide a sophisticated yet approachable dining and drinking experience, emphasizing its rooftop location and panoramic city views.
Pine Hall is open daily from 4pm. It can be very busy, especially on Saturday nights, and even on a Monday evening (e.g., 8:30 pm) can involve a significant wait (around 35 minutes). As it operates on a walk-in basis for tables, visiting earlier in the evening or on less popular days might reduce wait times. Be prepared for potential lines and a bustling atmosphere.
