Ristorante Da Ruggero

We had dinner at Trattoria Ruggero, a really cute and welcoming neighborhood trattoria right near our apartment. We arrived at 7:00 and were seated right away. We both started with Aperol Spritzes. Jim had the pasta alla carrettiera, and I had the roasted pork chop. We also shared a side of fagioli all’uccelletto (Tuscan-style beans). Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. A great local spot with a relaxed, authentic atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely delighted with every order, the ingredients are incredibly fresh and the quality consistently exceeds expectations. Reservations are highly recommended, as this place fills up fast!

After visiting Palazzo Pitti and the entire garden, stopping at this wonder of local toscan food was the best choice ever. The food was delicious, the people very friendly and the atmosphere made us feel like we are in the real Italy.

We had lunch here (myself, my husband and our 2 sons, 4&6 years old). We had to wait outside for 10 minutes because it was so busy BUT the food was the best we have had in Florence! The place is not touristy at all, the service was amazing! I accidentally ordered the wrong dish for my son and they offered to change it w/ No extra fee. We kept the wrong one and ordered a new dish because it was so good 😊 must try if you’re in this part of town! The sausage and bean was to die for.

My partner and I went for a meal in the evening here, our friend had booked us in beforehand. The service was brilliant, the waiter was very kind and helpful and even chased us down the street after we left to give me my sunglasses that I had accidentally left on the table. The food was also brilliant, we had a prawn antipasti, datterini tomato tagliatelle burrata and tortellini in a broth for a primi, and veal and sausage with beans for a second. No complaints, at all, absolutely lush. Highly recommend.
