Rockfish in Exmouth is part of a renowned chain of seafood restaurants founded by Mitch Tonks, known for its commitment to serving fresh, sustainable, and locally sourced seafood. Located right on the Pier Head, it offers stunning panoramic views of the bay and marina. The restaurant prides itself on fish landed daily, often from its own boat, the Rockfisher, in Brixham. It features an open grill and maintains a lively yet relaxed atmosphere.
Customers consistently praise Rockfish for its excellent, perfectly cooked fresh fish and seafood. The service is frequently highlighted as outstanding, with staff described as friendly, attentive, and efficient. The restaurant's stunning harbourside location and positive, vibrant atmosphere are also major draws. While many find the food and experience exceptional, some reviews note that it can be pricey. The consistency across different Rockfish locations is also a common theme.
Rockfish operates multiple locations across Devon and Dorset, all situated near the coast to ensure the freshest catch. In addition to its restaurants, Rockfish also runs an online seafood market, delivering fresh fish nationwide directly from the quayside. The Exmouth location is one of several, with others in Brixham, Dartmouth, and Torquay.
Given its stunning views, visiting during daylight hours would be ideal to fully appreciate the bay and marina. It's suitable for both casual lunches and special evening meals, with a lively yet relaxed vibe throughout the day.
