Ideal for early meals, lunch, or dinner, especially before a film at the adjacent cinema. During peak times, ordering via their app is recommended for quicker service.

We dropped into The Seahorse at Marine Point for an early tea after a breezy afternoon stroll along the New Brighton promenade. Being positioned right next to the Light Cinema on King's Parade makes it an incredibly handy, budget-friendly spot to refuel, especially if you have a family to feed or are looking for a casual drink and a bite before a film.
The highlight of the experience by a mile was the team working there. Even though it was peak dinner time and the pub was absolutely bursting at the seams, the staff were genuinely lovely, polite, and welcoming. They handled the busy crowd with a lot of patience and smiles, which really sets a pleasant tone for the visit. We ordered everything easily via the app at our table, and the drinks arrived impressively fast despite the packed bar.
Food-wise, it delivers exactly the standard, middle-of-the-road experience you expect from a Hungry Horse venue. The menu is massive, and the value is hard to beat with their daily deals. We opted for the classic fish and chips and a couple of burgers. The food arrived hot, the portions were very generous, and the chips were nicely crisped. That said, it’s typical pub fare—the burger bun was a little soggy, and the peas with the fish were a bit lukewarm, but everything tasted decent enough for the price point.
The only real downside is the atmosphere when it gets full. Because it’s a large, open-plan space with a lot of families, the noise levels can get quite loud, and the staff were clearly stretched trying to clear empty tables as quickly as people were leaving. Overall, it’s a reliable, honest choice if you want large portions and a friendly vibe without spending a fortune. It won't offer a high-end dining experience, but the hard-working staff and great prices make it a solid choice in New Brighton.
We were just walking along the front at New Brighton and we reached Marine Point at lunchtime and spotted this pub. We've never been in here before but thought we'd give it a try. We ordered Gamon steak and Lamb kofta flatbread. Both meals arrived within 10 minutes, don't know they cooked them that fast but they tasted great. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food prices were very reasonable for the large portions, I struggled to eat it all. Well worth dropping in to try it out.
A big pub and restaurant that serves good honest pub grub at reasonable prices. There was also a £6 special offer menu with some classics on. We popped in prior to visiting the cinema next door.
Service is quick and friendly and whilst we booked at table, there were so many others on offer for all group sizes.
There are a good range of lagers and ciders on offer and sadly only one bitter…John Smiths. Which was my only disappointment.
Took my two Grandson's on Tuesday. The kids small meal wasn't small, 4 nuggets chips and beans then a pudding (picture take after starting it) and a drink £6. The Mix it up was Tuesdays offer, £9, was the best I've had. Staff where friendly at the bar and kitchen staff, will be back.
Been here a fair bit. Always decent food. Can be a bit of a wait at the bar in busier times. The app to order can be quicker. Ive particularly enjoyed the ABBA tribute afternoon and the one In December with Elton. Came with work to those and they were fabulous!
