In simple words: Focus on food - not on show!
Located in a deserted area of Tel Aviv - but with easy access via car from outside Tel Aviv (and even walking distance from Rothschild) this place manages to put the focus on the menu - and not on fancy shmancy accessories. The interior is kept very simple, even the napkins and the toothpicks are simple - but WHO cares about that when you get served SOOOOO GOOOD FOOOD. You actually appreciate the simplicity of the rest.
The staff is super friendly and helpful - all with background from Yafo-Tel Aviv restaurant - but the relaxed and smily way! Like home-coming.
The menu consists of 4 parts:
* Vegetarian with various good options - we liked the leek a lot!
* Raw: Mainly fish, but also beef tartar -the intias and blue fin sashimis were mouth watering
* Sea: The calamari was perfect
* Land: Love the chicken - like an Israeli version of carbonara and the sweetbreads were exactly to the point. And not sunk in a weird sauce like in other places.
Skipped the desserts after being full.
The prices are fair and you get perfectly sized dishes - not a place were you go home hungry from too small plates!
Surely will come again!
One wouldn't expect a restaurant of this level in this neighborhood but it is definitely one of the best in Tel Aviv. Open kitchen with very talented chefs, waiters and/or staff. On first sight the menu may seem limited but each course is a discovery. Even the simple leek dish is heaven. On top of that here are very few places where I would eat sweetbreads but this is definitely one of them. Tel Aviv is one of the most creative places for food and this place really adds to it. In French they say "vaut le detour" Bravo !
Hidden gem where you seat at the bar and the chef cooks high culinary dishes in front of you in his open kitchen and serves you directly. Great atmosphere, tasty food, highly recommended.
Casual fine dining at its best.
This place is truly a restaurant’s restaurant — outstanding food, impressive service, and a unique wine list. We’ll definitely be back!
