We were recently recommended to visit Alexander's Garden restaurant in Naples.
This experience turned out to be quite delightful.
The restaurant is not very noticeable from the street, but upon entering, it reveals a beautiful atmosphere.
There are numerous outdoor tables in the central square, in addition to indoor seating.
The decor is stylish, featuring a bar at the entrance.
The food was simply outstanding. We began with the Phyllo Wrapped Shrimp and enjoyed the Squash Ravioli and the Scallop Salmon as our main courses.
Our server was exceptionally kind, as was the owner, Monica.
They both ensured that we had a wonderful evening.
It can get quite busy, so be sure to make a reservation and savor the excellent ambiance and cuisine.
Outstanding scallop special with shrimp risotto ( see pic ).
Friends both had duck, one was toasted & the other a special, both raved of the amazing flavor in addition to big portion. Alexander’s plates are always beautiful & every meal super satisfying.
Smaller servings than I was expecting. I ordered a steak cob "Dinner Salad". It only had 5 small strips of steak and a wedge of lettuce slightly bigger than half of a baseball. Also the "larger" oysters were the smallest I've ever eaten.
They were busy on a Saturday night before Easter so there was a little delay getting my order despite with servers trying hard to keep moving.
Arrived at 6:40 pm. Waiter came quickly and we ordered wine and a cocktail. At 7:30 pm, we had not seen waiter anywhere near our table. I went to hostess stand and spoke with Deidre. She said our waiter had a party of 12 across the restaurant from our table. She said she would send the waiter right over. Another 10 minutes elapsed before the waiter appeared with a real “attitude.” He did not apologize and told us all his time was being taken by a party of 12. From his attitude and tone, he pretty well assured us that we would get very little service or attention and his priority was with the party of 12. Based on his comments we realized that if we did order appetizers and entrees, no one would be there to make sure the preparation was satisfactory, we could order more wine or a second cocktail, or even get our water glasses refilled. We asked for our check which arrived very quickly with no apology. We paid our bill and left. I know that Alexander’s does not need our business, but I also know that we do not have to tolerate poor service and a take it or leave it attitude. As a local and not a tourist, I can get satisfaction that during the shoulder seasons, the will never make a profit from me.
