Danico

We were quite disappointed in the food here. We chose the signature tasting menu and overall the portions were extremely small, given the price point. See photos for the plating and the portions provided. My husband left the restaurant still hungry, which was a first for us and we have had many experiences at other restaurants with tasting menus. Firstly, the bread given to us to soak up sauce from the plates were very difficult to pull apart. As it was a croissant, it was an odd choice because it was also weirdly spicy and the pepper on top was extremely overpowering. Secondly, the approach to Italian Asian fusion was confusing and felt forced. For example, the wagyu tenderloin had wasabi mayo and a bok choy covered in sesame seeds. For most dishes, while the meats were cooked well, other components of the dishes were not cohesive and tasted quite mediocre. Thirdly, while the staff were very polite, the timing of the dishes was very inconsistent. In between dishes, we waited up to 25 minutes and service felt very slow at times. Lastly, the desserts were not good. The 'whisky snow' was bitter and the other sweets were very average. Overall, we were disappointed by the lacklustre food and would not recommend dining here. Please save your money and go elsewhere.

DaNico is a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant, and the experience really feels like it from start to finish. The space is modern, quiet, and very polished, which sets the tone for a fine dining meal right away. I had the tasting menu, and overall it was a really good experience. Every dish was presented beautifully, almost like art on the plate. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the details, from the ingredients to how everything is arranged. The pacing of the meal was also well done, so nothing felt rushed. The food itself was very refined. Most dishes were light, balanced, and creative, with some interesting flavour combinations that you don’t usually see in regular Italian restaurants. Some courses were more memorable than others—there were a couple of standout dishes that I really enjoyed, while a few were just good but not amazing. Service was excellent. The staff were professional, friendly, and explained each dish clearly, which made the experience feel more complete. They also checked in at the right times without being too present. Overall, DaNico is a solid fine dining experience. It’s more about the full journey—presentation, atmosphere, and creativity—rather than just one or two unforgettable dishes. I’d recommend it for a special occasion.

We spent our anniversary there and it was so much fun! The staff was great and everyone was really excited to be celebrating our anniversary with us. The food was delicious. Every dish was the best thing I've ever tasted. I especially loved the pasta dish and the wagyu steak. The desserts were amazing as well. One of the best restaurants we've ever been to!

Fantastic experience at Da Nico. This is our second visit and it did not disappoint. There were four of us -tried the signature set menu with the classic wine pairings. Every course was creative and absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. Would probably not do the wine pairing again if we return but instead order wine by the bottle; found the pairing pours quite limited and while each wine paired nicely with each course, would have preferred enjoying it with a wine of our choice. Definitely worth trying the wine pairing once though. Pricey but one of the best set menus we have tried. Decor in the restaurant is also beautiful. All in all a wonderful evening!
