I recently visited Ema at The Domain in Austin, which is the sister restaurant to Aba, and overall I had a really positive experience.
The atmosphere is stylish and inviting, very much in line with what you’d expect if you’ve been to Aba. Everything feels well-designed and high quality, from the ambiance to the presentation of the dishes.
The food itself was excellent. I tried the kofta kebab, chicken kebab, and lamb hummus, and all of them were flavorful and well-executed. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the quality was consistent across the board. That said, I did notice the portion sizes are smaller compared to Aba, so keep that in mind if you’re going in hungry.
For drinks, I had a margarita and a rosé. Both were well-made and enjoyable, though the overall drink selection felt a bit more limited compared to other similar restaurants.
One thing worth mentioning: there were no online reservations available for the night I went, which was a bit concerning at first. However, I decided to walk in anyway and was surprised to find plenty of open space, so it ended up not being an issue at all.
Overall, Ema delivers great food and a polished atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back, just with adjusted expectations on portion size and reservations.
