Customer Perception
Customer feedback is mixed but generally highlights the unique experience. Many praise the entertaining and creative drag shows, lively atmosphere, and some of the dishes, particularly the Tartare on Bone Marrow and Gazpacho. It's often recommended for celebrations or unique date nights. However, common criticisms include inconsistent food quality (some dishes described as bland or burned), minimal and inconsistent service, small wine pours, and high prices. Some customers felt the execution didn't always match the high price point or the 'chef experience' marketing, with the show sometimes being underwhelming or too short.
Additional Details
Gila & Nancy operates as both a restaurant and includes the 'Nancy Bar'. It is part of the Eyal Shani Group. The venue aims to provide a highly experiential and colorful night out rather than a quiet dinner.
The restaurant is popular and booking a table well in advance is highly recommended. It is ideal for dinner or brunch, especially for those seeking a theatrical evening, celebrations, or a unique date night.

The dishes were good, indicative of the polished and stripped down style of Eyal Shani.
The staff was hearty and attentive to our needs, and striking up a conversation was very natural and amiable. And the drag show was great! The performers made sure we were entertained and it was definitely a unique touch.
Overall a great experience- good food, good vibes and a good drag show!
I came expecting the show to be the main event, since that’s clearly the concept. We waited over an hour, and when it finally happened it was so fast and underwhelming that I barely remember it—blink and you miss it. Not much of a show.
The service was polite but very minimal, perhaps too minimal for a place aiming to be an “experience.”
What bothered me most was the cold. On a freezing night, the air conditioning was fully on. When I asked why, I was told it was for the performer—who appeared for about three minutes—while guests sat freezing for over an hour.
The food was mostly bland, which is hard to justify given the very high prices. Wine pours were also surprisingly small, though to their credit, the waiter did offer extra wine after we complained.
The space itself is nicely designed, but the dishes are uninspired and forgettable.
Overall: a beautiful venue with an interesting idea, but poor execution. For the price, I expected better food, more warmth (literally and figuratively), and a show that actually feels like a show.
Disappointment. The place markets a chef experience with a high-class performance (which was nice), but in reality we felt a cynical exploitation of the chef's name to attract a crowd. The food is far from amazing, and the cocktails are too sweet and unbalanced. The experience leaves a harsh feeling of maximizing money at the expense of quality. I won't come here again.
Gila VeNancy" is much more than just a Levantine-French restaurant; it's a full-blown spectacle. The collaboration between Chef Eyal Shani and the PAG party line has created a wild, vibrant, and utterly unique spot in the heart of Tel Aviv. The design is a mix of Baroque Parisian cabaret meets psychedelic funfair—an over-the-top atmosphere where exciting drag shows take place right in the middle of your meal.
The Food:
The menu follows Eyal Shani's signature style—some genius, refined dishes alongside simple, yet precisely executed ones, based on quality local ingredients and poetic descriptions. Highly recommended:
• Tartare on Bone Marrow: An incredibly rich, decadent, and memorable dish.
• Gazpacho of Cloud Cream Tomato: Light, airy, and bursting with fresh flavor.
• Be sure to sample from the various categories on the menu.
Service and Atmosphere:
The service, despite the chaotic and fun atmosphere, is generally professional and efficient. The vibe is loud, joyful, and completely uninhibited. This is not the place for a quiet dinner, but rather for a highly experiential and colorful night out, perfect for celebrations or a unique date night.
Tip for Visitors:
Prepare yourself for a theatrical evening! The prices are on the higher side, but they accurately reflect the total experience you are getting (food, design, and a full show). The venue is very popular, so booking a table well in advance is highly recommended.
An amazing experience from start to finish, it truly doesn’t feel like any other place. The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all outstanding. The concept is incredibly cool and creates such a unique dining experience. Highly recommended.
