Best Fish Sandwich in Tel Aviv (awarded by Eat(in) Tel Aviv) • March 5, 2023
Super popular stand in the middle of the market, very busy during the day, arrive early to avoid the crowds. Fresh fish dishes but the most popular one seems to be the sandwich. We only tried the ceviche and the flavors were pretty good, quite sweet (strawberries are in season) but smothered in sumaq, and deceivingly small as the entire bottom is just leafy salad.
I took the "fishermen sandwich" the flavors were really good but I can't say it was over the top extraordinarily...
I felt the sandwich needed more fish, it was a small amount of fish and it was not proportional to the amount of greens
The service is very friendly and efficient
The prices are fair and the general atmosphere was very nice and inviting
This is the most divine fish sandwich you'll ever have. It's called the fisherman's sandwich. It's pure perfection. Gorgeous grilled seabass, fresh herbs, tomatoes and even an option to add fresh chillies all in a lovely crispy but soft baguette. It's simple, but delicious. During the weekend, its super busy so if you can get yourself there during the week, it'll be less busy and easier to order. There's no where to sit, so expect to chomp on this heavenly sandwich standing.
This little seafood stand in the Carmel Market has appeared in a spate of "Hidden Gems in the Carmel Market" lists as of late. I wouldn't call necessarily call it a hidden gem anymore - it's become pretty well known and popular but it is worth the hype! It is really delicious, especially their signature Fisherman Sandwhich. Their menu is tiny so just order one of everything!
Delicious. One of the best fish sandwiches ever. Can be a bit busy at times but worth the wait. If there is room, sit at the counter and watch them make the sandwiches.
