The rooms, staff, and location here are excellent, but I’d highly recommend checking the local event calendar before you book. We paid a quite a bit for a specific room but ended up staying in it most of the time because a World Cup crowd packed the hotel. The staff even said they didn't know that was happening when we checked in and apologize to us. There was no seating available to enjoy drinks on the patio or soak in the atmosphere, which was a letdown for the price. They have a lovely, intimate upstairs garden patio that offers a really nice, relaxing atmosphere. We actually come here every couple of years for our anniversary, so we're well aware of its reputation as a lively party hotel and usually know what to expect. However, it would be a huge plus if management could block off a designated area exclusively for staying hotel guests when the venue gets packed. It would give paying guests a guaranteed spot to unwind amidst the party vibe.
I’ve always wanted to stay at Hotel Congress, and I finally did this past weekend with my husband and our 1 year old. The hotel itself is incredible, with a great bar, restaurant and live music, we truly loved the overall vibe and experience.
That said, the sleeping situation was a bit challenging for us. We knew going in that it can get pretty loud, especially on weekends, and while we tried to make it work, we couldn’t fall asleep until the club downstairs closed around 2:00 AM. It’s definitely a fun, lively spot, but it may be tough to stay there with young kids.
Ive been on a road trip of funky hotels in the Southwest and I start this review by saying that so you know my bar is not the Four Seasons. but this hotel I have no words for.
My basic rule is: Is it better than Motel 6? short answer NO.
Let me also say I knew it would be loud, I am a great sleeper so I thought I could deal with it and I was not there on a weekend but OMG loud does not begin to describe it. there are no words. it is nuts. but I knew this going into my stay and I signed the waiver about noise so I wont hold that against this place (but you should). here is what I hold against them:
1. no coffee. not in the room not in the lobby not anywhere "we don't do it for cost reasons". So they keep you up all night with noise and then tell you they can give you directions to the nearest place for coffee that will open in 45 minutes.
2. the internet sucks and I find this at "hipster hotels' but it is inexcusable in 2026 to have internet so slow you cant stream a movie especially when there is no TV in the room.
3. there is no elevator so you will shlep your suitcase up carpeted stairs.
4. parking is off-site. not far. but still and of course no valet.
5. tiniest bed you can imagine. Not even queen size
6. smallest shower ever and this is a small thing but they have shampoo and conditioner like most hotels but no soap. weird.
the guy at the desk said look "we are not really a hotel, we are a nightclub with room." well said. if that is your jam, fine, but if you expect even Motel 6 level amenities, go elsewhere.
Very loud until 2:30am 7 days a week. Had a bathtub, but the plug didnt work, kids unable to use it. Floor had a lot of un eveness, kids got nervous. No TV in rooms, loved the radio though. Got charged $8 for 2 bottles of water sitting in the room even though the price of them wasn't with the list of everything else in the tray. Photo booth is weird with charges, somehow got charged $21 for 6 strips of the same photos. As an experience for an adult thats old school, not bad. But if you're up to date amd tech savvy, not the place for you just to get it off your bucket list.
Great experience though
I went here with my FAMILY and ended up getting kicked out for no reason, the man who kicked me out gave no explanation, I was not severely intoxicated at all and was not being irate or anything. I went to the bathroom and this curly haired man was waiting for me when I got out, again giving me NO EXPLANATION. Very poor service. Not a comfortable atmosphere and I would not recommend going here again. Would give zero stars if possible.
