It is helmed by Top Chef alum Chef Shirley Chung, offering elevated Chinese-American dishes with Texas-influenced flavors in an intimate, speakeasy-style setting. The restaurant focuses on creative interpretations of classic Chinese dishes.
Customers consistently praise the exceptional service, with specific shout-outs to servers like Kyle and Brandon. The ambiance is described as warm, beautiful, and perfect for a fancy date night. Dishes are generally well-received for their beautiful presentation and rich flavors, with the Spicy Duck Fat Wontons, Sweet and Sour Halibut, and Lava Potato Purée frequently highlighted as standouts. Some feedback suggests that while many dishes are delicious, a few appetizers like the egg rolls or potstickers might not appeal to everyone's taste, and some fried items could have more consistent texture.

My friend and I dined here and had an enjoyable time. Parking was easy and we were seated quickly. The service amongst our waitress and staff was great and very attentive!
We started out with a few appetizers - lobster and shrimp air egg rolls, jumbo wagyu cheeseburger potstickers, duck fat spicy chicken wontons, and the drunken yellowtail. I really enjoyed the wontons (wasn’t overly spicy) and yellowtail (very fresh) but the eggroll could’ve held more flavor (the dipping sauce was good) and if you enjoy cheeseburgers you’ll like the potstickers (wasn’t for me).
For the main, we shared the prime filet and broccoli + added a side of steamed white rice and lava potato puree. The beef and broccoli were delicious and meat cooked well but I would’ve enjoyed a little bit more sauce. The puree was tasty and was a nice addition to the meal. We ended with tea and a matcha dessert - we enjoyed both!
Overall, this was a good dining experience and definitely recommend!
I want to start this review by giving our server, Kyle, a shout-out! He was amazing and really made sure my partner and I were taken care of on Valentine’s Day! On top of that, all the staff made sure our drinks stayed full and our table stayed clear when necessary. For the service alone, I’d recommend!
Foods I’d recommend - Spicy Duck Fat Wontons, Shrimp and Lobster egg rolls with plum sauce (not pictured), the sweet and sour halibut (not pictured), the orange quail, and the tapioca pudding with mango and grapefruit.
Best dish of the night for me were the Spicy Duck Fat Wontons. I’d never tasted anything quite like it. It was rich in the best way and the serving size was perfect. Kyle told us to make sure to also sip the broth - game changer!
Overall, lovely experience for fancy date night!
Great Chinese food. Not a large menu but it covers almost everything. Dumpling , bao bun, fried rice, duck….. food is presented beautifully and taste delicious. Place is designed nicely. Totally a great experience.
My wife and I have been waiting to try this place since before it opened, and finally we did! Literally every dish was amazing. Our server, Brandon, was incredibly friendly and helpful and very funny. The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful and everything. We can’t wait to come back!
I was incredibly excited for dinner here tonight, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. While we didn’t get the chance to see our idol, Chef Shirley, the experience was still exceptional. From the warm ambiance to the attentive service, everything set the stage for a wonderful evening.
We ordered the wontons, halibut, potato purée, kung pao tofu, and duck fried rice. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, but the true standouts were the wontons, the silky potato purée, and the perfectly cooked halibut.
To finish, we shared the matcha layered cake, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal.
We can’t wait to come back!
