Headed to The Old Man and the Sea in Jaffa's port (85 Kedem St) for seafood dinner, and the hilltop sea views at sunset are unbeatable – huge space with indoor/outdoor seating that fits groups like family parties. They kick off with 20+ fresh salads, dips, hummus and hot tabun pita (refills free!), then mains like grilled sea bass or squid platter came out juicy and flavorful.
Arabic hospitality shines – fast service, free lemonade/tea, fireworks desserts for birthdays. Cash preferred, reasonable for portions/value. Legendary spot for mezze feast with ocean breeze!
DON'T HESITATE... best restaurant I've ever been to in any country! Wow the food is so fresh. I am a fisherman and this was very very fresh fish! Great chicken and lamb too and the portions are HUGE!
As we all know the service can make or break your dining experience. Service was phenomenal, such a wonderful experience to see fast and amazing team work, obviously great management! Our waiter was William, wonderful and so gracious and friendly! GO GO GO :) Oh and very clean!
Perfect place where you get tasty appetizers in a minute after arrival, plus a very cold and tasty lemonade that was like a heaven after a long walk on a hot day. The waiters are attentive and refill the empty plates. We had a great time, thank you. I already recommended the place to many friends.
The restaurant is a well-known legendary place in Israel. The spacious spot, set on the Jaffa port, overlooks the sea. It’s a whole experience. They will serve you a pitcher of freshly squeezed lemonade and 22 (yes, 22!) small tasting plates upon sitting alongside freshly made hummus and Arabic bread straight from the oven! They will serve all these and is included in your bill whether you like it or not so you might as well try them all. Dessert and coffee are included in your bill as well.
This was the best restaurant I experienced while visiting Tel Aviv. The food was amazing with all of the salads they throw down on the table. If you're a tourist, it's a great way to try many different spreads and vegetables. The servers hustles all of the time and make sure you have plenty of food and lemonade. You have to try this restaurant while visiting if you really want to experience Israeli culture!
