Onauma

An amazing and super authentic Thai restaurant, probably one of the best ones in the city! I came here for a quick lunch with a friend on a weekday, and there was quite a long waiting line (if you have a tight schedule, make sure to arrive early right when they open, otherwise you can wait for a table for quite some time), but because we were only 2 we managed to get a table quite quickly, after about 10-15 mins. The staff was kind and explained about the spiciness level of the food we ordered, just to make sure it won't be too spicy for us, which I greatly appreciated. For starter we shared a papaya salad that was just the perfect amount of spicy (I do like spicy food though, for my friend it was too spicy). For mains I had my favorite Thai soup, Khao Soy, which is a red curry based soup served with chicken, egg noodles and topped with coriander and some fried noodles that provide a crispy touch to the entire dish. I absolutely loved it, and as someone who visited Thailand a few months ago, it definitely sent me back and the flavors were really good and authentic. My friend had the Gai Pad King which is stir fried chicken with ginger, scallion, garlic & shimeji mushrooms, topped with a sunny side up egg and served with white rice. This one was also very delicious and felt authentic to the Thai kitchen's flavors. The atmosphere was quite busy as the entire place was full, but it wasn't hectic and we could still enjoy a conversation without the background noises being too loud. Overall a great lunch option, especially if you adore the Thai cuisine as much as I do, and I can't wait to come back and eat here again!
