Sushi Saito Azabudai is a branch of the highly acclaimed Sushi Saito, often regarded as one of Japan's top sushi restaurants. Located within the Azabudai Hills Market in Minato-Ku, Tokyo, it offers a refined omakase experience. The restaurant is known for its meticulously crafted sushi, featuring aged fish and premium seasonal ingredients. Reservations are notoriously difficult to secure, especially for dinner.
Customers consistently praise the exceptional quality of the sushi, noting the perfect tartness of akami, the amazing chuutoro and otoro, and the best sumiika many have ever had. The kurumaebi is highlighted for being warm, sweet, and freshly poached, while the uni is lauded for its freshness and lack of briny taste. Anago is described as melting in the mouth. The sake pairing is also highly recommended. While the lunch course is considered a good value and popular among local professionals, some customers found the pace of service to be very fast, making it difficult to fully savor the meal, and felt the lunch portions were small.
The restaurant opened on March 13, 2024, as part of the Azabudai Hills Market. Due to its location within the market, there may be temporary restrictions on market admission due to congestion. It is considered an affiliated or lineage restaurant of the main Sushi Saito.
Dinner reservations are extremely difficult to secure, indicating it's a highly sought-after experience. Lunch offers a smaller, more casual course, which is popular among local professionals and may be a more accessible option, though still requiring advance booking.
