An excellent experience. Usually seafood in South Africa is not an amazing experience but tonight was sublime. The taste combinations showed real delicacy. Normally oysters are better without accompaniment, but here they were enhanced by their sauces. And that remained true for the other dishes too. I'll definitely return.
Great eve at Amura last night. Went for the chef's menu and wine pairing. Really tasty range of flavours and textures across the dishes, thoughtfully curated. Wines excellent. Service very attentive.
We recently dinned at Amura during our stay in Capetown and this was hands down our best dining experience during our stay.
If you like sea food, and fine dining then don’t sleep on this!
We ordered off the menu rather than did the trust the chef as there was so much we wanted to try! And all of it did not disappoint.
The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was wonderful.
If I was ever in Capetown again I would be going back more than once!
We spent R3400 for 7 starters, 1 shared main,1 vegetable dish, 2 desserts, 3 drinks each and tip. We thought the price was extremely reasonable for the quality, the presentation, flavours and experience - particularly Meares to other much lesser dining experiences we did for the same or much higher price point.
Beyond unforgettable.
Huge congratulations to the team and Chef Arlind on the Eat Out Woolworths Best New Restaurant award. After dining here, it’s clear why. Every dish struck a perfect balance of innovation and simplicity, with seafood executed flawlessly—nothing overdone, yet packed with deep, lasting flavor.
What stood out most was how effortlessly it all came together: creative, refined, and comforting all at once. From start to finish, the experience was pure magic—easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
So well deserved. Can’t wait to return.
We visited Amura last night for dinner. We had been told about the restaurant opening when we were at the Mount Nelson for lunch in October. After seeing various “influencers” posting about the opening I was keen to visit and we were not disappointed. The decor is beautiful and the setting is stunning. Our waiter, Ronaldo, was lovely. He had a good understanding of the menu, the dishes and flavours. The food was also outstanding. Yes, it’s salty but it’s meant to be - watch the Chef’s Table on Netflix for a more thorough understanding of Angel Leon’s food journey and philosophy. I would highly recommend a visit. Yes, it’s a different experience but a wonderful one at that.
