During our recent stay in London, we had the pleasure of dining at Balans—not once, but twice in the same day, which in itself says quite a lot.
We first visited for breakfast, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The sourdough bread was perfectly toasted—crisp on the outside, yet wonderfully soft within. Topped with fresh avocado and accompanied by beautifully scrambled eggs, the dish struck that rare balance between simplicity and indulgence. The eggs were creamy and expertly seasoned, clearly prepared with care. Every bite felt thoughtfully composed, and the quality of the ingredients truly shone through.
The experience lingered with us throughout the day, and by evening, we found ourselves returning—drawn back by just how satisfying the morning had been. Dinner did not disappoint in the slightest. The burger was hearty and flavourful, cooked precisely to order, and served with all the classic accompaniments one hopes for. Equally impressive was the beef sugo pasta: rich, comforting, and deeply savoury, with a sauce that tasted as though it had been simmered for hours to achieve its depth.
What truly sets Balans apart is its consistency and atmosphere. Whether for a relaxed breakfast or a cosy dinner, the ambience remains welcoming and vibrant, with attentive service that enhances the overall experience without ever feeling intrusive.
All in all, Balans proved to be more than just a convenient dining spot—it became a memorable part of our London visit. The fact that we returned twice in one day speaks volumes, and we would gladly do so again on our next trip.
Great food choices, took me a good while to decide on breakfast as it all sounded so good, will definitely go back again to try the other items. Good coffee, super friendly service and nice atmosphere! Only a 5 minute walk from Design Museum so a great stop on the way or recharge afterwards!

Hearty English breakfast style food. I think they have good choices and reasonably priced meals. I was there just as they opened in a weekday morning. Friendly staff with good food recommendations.
Good arrived quite quickly. They are really tasty. The location is just 3mins walk from High Street Kensington station. And maybe 5-6 mins away from Holiday Inn and Corpthrone Tara Hotels.

Loved the full english breakfast here. Plenty of add-on options. Eggs Benedict with salmon were perfect too, as were the banana and the fresh strawberry pancakes
