Cafe Boheme, founded in 1992 by Soho House & Co, is a long-standing French bistro in the heart of London's Soho. It offers an all-day menu of French classics in a laid-back, bohemian atmosphere, inspired by 19th-century French poets. The venue is versatile, suitable for brunch, coffee, wine, lunch, dinner, and even work meetings, with a beautiful restaurant area and a cafe space. It also features live music and is dog-friendly.
Customers generally praise Cafe Boheme for its lovely French bistro vibe, excellent food, and friendly, attentive staff. Dishes like the Croque Monsieur and Boeuf Bourguignon receive high acclaim for their taste and quality. The atmosphere is consistently described as great, perfect for various social occasions including date nights, with dim lighting and gentle music. However, some recent feedback noted disappointment with the quality and high price of cocktails, and one review mentioned a less-than-ideal texture for the steak tartare on a particular visit, though it was usually enjoyed.
Cafe Boheme has been a fixture in Soho for over three decades, maintaining its charm and offering a consistent French dining experience. Its connection to Soho House & Co highlights its pedigree in hospitality. The restaurant's commitment to live music adds to its vibrant, bohemian character.
Cafe Boheme is ideal for visiting throughout the day, from morning until late. It's recommended for brunch, coffee, or wine in the cafe area, and for lunch or dinner in the restaurant. The evening, especially for a date night, is popular due to its dim lighting and gentle music. Live music events are also scheduled, making those times particularly appealing.
