Found this amazing place and everything here is top notch. Leslie was our waitress and she took care of our table excellent. She recommended several items and we tried almost all items she recommended and everything tasted well. Tried podi vada, maddur vadda, sambal peppers. Except podi vada everything tasted really well. Tried Rasam poori, thayir vada chat and they both tasted amazing. Tried Gongura curry, Veggies of the day and Tyre sadam and they tasted really well. I must say the poriyal and egg plant curry are exceptional. Coming to desserts, had Mango Halwa and Coconut desert and the presentation and taste is unlike any desserts I have eaten. Menu is limited but very good. Ambience is top notch. 06/18 - Revisited this place again but the service was disappointing. Requested for sambar and additional chutneys for Masala Dosa and it took an eternity despite reminding them multiple times. Order jigarthanda it just looked and tasted like chocolate ice cream bar.

Beautiful restaurant, pretty good food, but the service left us confused. We ordered the truffle egg appam, rasam poori, chutney palette, shrimp vennai roast, bone marrow, dosa, and the coconut dessert. In terms of food, I loved the dosa, and coconut dessert. Loved the flavor of the rasam poori but two of them had holes in the bottom and leaked as we poured. The bone marrow and shrimp vannai roast were good as well. Unfortunately, the chutneys were very similar to each other and the truffle egg appam tasted too strongly of coconut, and I could barely taste the truffle or the egg. But still overall very good. The service felt like they weren’t trying. The food came out at unreasonable intervals. We got the egg appam first, then the bone marrow, poori, chutney palette, and shrimp in rapid succession. It barely fit on our table— plates were half hanging off the side of the table. We felt rushed to eat it all because things were getting cold. The table next to us had to ask the waiter to take something back to the kitchen temporarily because they couldn’t fit it on their table. It was very odd and unexpected for a restaurant like this.

Had a memorable visit to Copra. The interior design and ambiance are absolutely stunning, creating one of the most beautiful dining spaces in San Francisco. The food was enjoyable and well prepared, though I went in with very high expectations and found it didn't quite reach the level I was hoping for. That said, the overall experience, hospitality, and atmosphere made for a very pleasant evening.

Beautiful place, solid food, quick service. It wasn't quite our party favorite. Good food, a few standout amazing dishes, and a few that didn't quite hit for us. Mostly personal preference. The standout dishes were the octopus (so tender), butternut squash (not really unique, but extremely scrumptious), cod steamed in banana leaf, lamb curry, and desserts. We wish there'd been some rice on the side to eat the sauces with, we often felt the dishes had way more sauce than the small breads could use up. Poori balls are my personal favorites - absolutely knockout punch you in the face flavor.
