The Old Nun's Head is a vibrant and inclusive pub known for its queer nights, student nights, DJs, and after-parties, offering a safe, friendly, and fun atmosphere. It's housed in what is described as a 17th-century nunnery.
Customers frequently praise the friendly and welcoming staff, quick service, and generous portions. The Sunday roasts receive mixed reviews, with some finding the meat (beef, lamb) tough or lacking flavor, while others highly recommend them, especially the vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, and gravy. The pizza, provided by Dough Hands, is consistently lauded as excellent, light, crispy, and addictive, with good vegan options like the miso mushrooms topping. The pub's decor and vibes are also appreciated.
The pub is known for its lively events, including queer nights and DJ sets. It partners with 'Dough Hands' for its pizza offerings and 'Slice Circle' for its roasts.
Early evenings, especially Mondays, can get busy, so booking in advance is recommended. Sundays are popular for their roasts, with good vibes noted around 4 PM.
