Got a granary bread and a yuzu french fancy. They are both delicious! A hidden gem. Nice baking smells all around!

Not worth it! The swirl was just ok Scotch egg same The other item is just a block of butter and flour not really good not sure was even bake correctly the texture was looking a bit underbaked. The bread looks good in the shop. We didn’t hear a “hi or hello” all the people they were talking with the chef, costumer should be prioritised.

This is the sort of sausage roll the gods must eat. It is utterly sublime. The sausage meat… perfectly seasoned with rich warm deeply embedded herbs. The pastry… rich and crisp man’s moist and buttery.. and the sesame seeds a good addition. But the real magic here is brought about by its proportionality. Like the golden triangle, the ratio of pastry to sausage is absolutely perfect. Other pretenders to the crown of London best sausage roll… you know who you are… just don’t get this right, cakes it’s Bakery does. Hooray! London best sausage roll.

Pretty bad experience, unfortunately. Visited Bank Holiday Monday, around 2pm ish. No queue or wait to be served. Most options still seemed to be available which, to be honest, was a little alarming on a Bank Holiday quite late in the day… In any case, I had the white iced bun and it was really bad. You ever had a supermarket hot dog bun a day or two past its best, when it’s dry as anything but you can just about get away with eating it? It was like this, with a tiny bit of sugar icing thrown over it to try and hide its shame. I suspect this was from over the weekend; I cannot believe it was made fresh today. And, if it WAS… then there’s something very wrong if that is the accepted end result. £4 for this privilege, no less! 2 stars accounts for the nice location, ease of getting served and the nice environment / decor of the place. Absolutely would not return. Shame because I love every other Claridge’s experience I’ve had (dinner, drinks, afternoon tea etc).
