Amazing find in london Hackney Wick. I came to uncle hons around 2 months ago and forgot to post but should have as the food was amazing. Blending Chinese and American cuisine together into a BBQ fusion, this place wowed us and was so yummy. The food was delicious 🤤
Tender beef cheeks that melt in the mouth, chewy pulled lamb and my absolute fav, the peach tea glazed pork belly. Soft, sweet with a real taste of the peach tea, ribs were tasty. Rice was great to cleanse our palette.
The only criticism (and it’s small) was the ordering and way it’s done.
I hope they start up elsewhere now they have finished in their location. Fantastic
We had a delicious meal. It’s more of a canteen/very casual dining. DJ set, obvs!
Staff were superb. Particularly the person behind the bar. It was really quiet for a weekend.
We enjoyed the selection of meats and the miso aubergine was 10/10. I could eat a jar of the pickles and coleslaw was excellent. My only gripe was the food was not very hot but perhaps that is just the way it is served.
I’d definitely recommend a visit here though before the whole area is completely gentrified.
BBQ meat specialist with Asian flavours that I love! We had the BBQ tray, Sichuan beef short ribs, classic Texan Iberico pork ribs and smoked Gouda mac N’ cheese. I will be back for the duck pancakes another time as they also look good. Inside and outside seating on the first floor, good selection of drinks too. Bring friends so you can share the dishes
Blending Chinese and American cuisine together into a BBQ fusion, this place wowed us and got me into a food coma by how good the food is.
Situated inside the All My Friends bar, I delightfully chose the BBQ platter as it seemed worth the money with a mix of things in one, and as a bonus treat, the Sichuan beef rib.
We were amazed by the platter. Tender beef cheeks that melt in the mouth, chewy pulled lamb and my absolute fav, the peach tea glazed pork belly. Soft, sweet with a real taste of the peach tea. Bearable sweetness. Rice was great to cleanse our palette.
Now, the Sichuan beef rib was marvellous and marinated well. Surprisingly not as spicy as we were thinking.
For £70, I would definitely vouch for the platter again. Great portions enough for 2 people.
Service was lovely and friendly. Definitely coming back!
Food was exquisitely prepared, and the flavours were rich, yet possessing hidden subtleties. The meal was a testament to Uncle Hon's mastery of the Texan pit, as well as the seasonings, spices, and herbs of different Chinese regional cuisines.
Staff & service were amicable, helpful, and very professional.
The atmosphere was generally nice, but the music was a tad loud (understandably so, since the seating area is in a bar with music venue, no one's fault).
