Hon'S BBQ

Usually when someone tries to do fusion food, it tends to end up in confusion, however this is NOT the case at Hon's BBQ. After years of training and development, Hon has managed to find a perfect balance of Texas BBQ and Regional Chinese flavours. I was on a serious mission so invited a bunch of close friends and family to ensure that we got to taste every item on the menu. The waiting staff were extremely helpful with our order, assigning perfect portions of each dish for our group size. As each dish came out, we were blown away with all the flavours. The pork ribs were unctuous, the Xian lamb breast had a perfect cumin spice, the Ox cheeks fell apart and pork belly cubes were divine. Surprisingly, the vegetable dishes were standout including the master stock tofu, green beans and cauliflower with smoked corn sauce. Then came the signature Sichuan beef short ribs, which while superb was oddly not my favourite dish. Another slight miss was probably the smoked duck pancakes which, while not a bad dish, lacked finesse. Plus the fact nothing can beat actual wood fired duck in Peking! The premises is spacious and bustling while the vibe is great. The staff were all amazing and Hon was a great host. If there are some improvements to be made, I suggest that they explore having an actual bar menu and mixologist to offer some unique cocktails as opposed to the canned options. Overall, one of my favourite restaurant meals of the year!

An exciting new restaurant bursting with unique flavours!! Hon's bbq brings such a new and fresh take to barbecue. We got the duck pancakes to start - the duck is absolutely perfect however I will say that the pancakes were undercooked (I much preferred eating the duck by itself to enjoy the flavour more). Ox cheek was highly recommended and I really understand why! It's so tender, melts in your mouth, and the pickles are sweet & tart and pairs really well with the meat. I heard so much about the beef short rib before coming and knew that I had to get it and it did not disappoint! Incredibly tender and soft, literally a flavour explosion.... I will be thinking about this for a while. The typhoon shelter green beans go so well with everything on the menu, it's the perfect sidekick to the meat. Got the mango coconut pudding for dessert and it was a great way to finish off the meal. A small menu that packs a punch, lovely staff who were so friendly, and an amazing restaurant overall. I will surely be returning to try the rest of the menu and in the meantime will be recommending this to all my friends!

Delicious food - great flavours and really good quality meat cooked perfectly. Appreciated the wider tables which allow space for sharing plates (other restaurants take note!) Loved the menu options. Honestly if you can, order it all! My fave were the pork ribs, nothing better about BBQ than getting your hands a little dirty. Had an eye on Hons BBQ for a while, happy to visit it's new home - did not disappoint

The best Texas bbq I’ve ever had, layered with a Chinese twist is crazy. Come here if you want to experience plates of flavour. Been coming to Hon’s since his first residency and this is just another level up, such a nice vibe at the bar seats too! The duck pancakes were amazing and ox cheek is unforgettable!!

Went for dinner early on their first night of service, and it was lovely. My server was so kind and welcoming. The vegetables were outstanding - spicy, sweet, and savoury with lots of crunch. The duck pancakes and pork ribs were favourites from the meat side. It’s hard to find good BBQ in London, so delighted to have Hon’s!
