Suto

⭐ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Absolutely incredible - Having spent two weeks last year eating sushi across Japan, this is the only place in 4 years of eating Japanese in Barcelona that meets that world class standard. No surprise that this is in the Micheline guide - surprising it didn’t get a star! Service - 10/10 The head chef and team were incredibly enjoyable to be around. The lady provided a fantastic recommendation of white wine, and was very attentive as a glass was never left empty! Food - 10/10 Every dish across the tasting menu was excellent because of the superior quality of the ingredients. Notable mentions include the Gamba de Palamos, the tuna with caviar and the vieira. There were also several types of fish like red snapper that were paired with just the most amazing flavour sauces. The true award winner has to be the toro, prepared with charcoal that even came from a real Japanese tree! 🌲 The meat dishes were absolutely spectacular, wagyu that melts in your mouth and solomillo of the highest quality with a perfectly paired gravy like sauce. A surprising fan favourite was the Udon with pee’s. How did this dish have such amazing flavour? There was also a tofu dish (I have never liked tofu) and I loved this dish. Deserts were innovative such as the shaved ice and never tried before combinations. The final surprise was such a nice treat that I won’t ruin - you’ll have to try it. This place is generally fully booked for several months in advance, and as soon as you try it, you’ll understand exactly why! If you’re trying to organise a memorable, special night for your partner, like an anniversary or birthday, or simply trying to impress somebody with your ability to find the most incredible restaurants - Suto will certainly deliver to the highest standard. Thank you so much 🙌🏼 we look forward to returning and bringing more of our friends next time!

We flew all the way from Ibiza just to experience Suto and it was worth every single mile. Without exaggeration, this was the best omakase we’ve ever had. The precision, the balance, the temperature control, the texture transitions everything was executed at an exceptional level. Each course felt intentional and perfectly timed, allowing the ingredients to truly shine. The quality of the fish was outstanding incredibly fresh, delicate, and handled with such respect. You can feel the discipline, technique, and quiet confidence behind every piece. No unnecessary theatrics just pure mastery. The atmosphere is intimate and refined, which makes the experience even more special. It feels personal, curated, and deeply authentic. If you appreciate true Japanese omakase at the highest level, Suto is a destination in itself. We will absolutely be back. Thank you guys 💕😊💞✨ From Ibiza with love Jen&Chris ✨

The menu is outstanding with an excellent selection of products and exceptional freshness. Special thanks for the attentive and friendly service. You truly created a wonderful atmosphere and a memorable dining experience.

Came here for a celebration and I have no regrets! Freshest fish I’ve ever tasted and wonderful experience. The chef made us feel really welcome and it was a really pleasant atmosphere.

My wife and I have traveled all over the world (including Japan), and recounting this meal, we have been hard-pressed to think of a dining experience that tops it! We read the glowing reviews online, and were expecting a terrific meal. We were absolutely blown away; can’t stop talking about it days later. The presentation, pacing and variety of the courses was superb, to say the least of the complexity and flavors of the courses themselves. A few courses that stand out in our memory for being unique and flavorful were the tempura oysters with kimchi mayonnaise, the Japanese flan with kiwi, thin sliced apples and jam, and each of the nigiri courses - hands down the highest quality sushi we’ve ever had. The service was also fantastic. Our servers spoke excellent English and described each of the courses to us in detail, and were extremely attentive to anything we needed. We sat at the bar, which provided an additional treat in us being able to observe the chef/owner creating many of the courses. We were not expecting that, and it really enhanced the experience. At the end of the meal we were able to converse with the chef, and it was a joy to experience his passion and hear the origin story of the restaurant. We both felt that the price for the tasting menu was beyond fair.
