The interior feels like a spacious retro clubhouse with a really stylish vibe. I tried the weekday quick lunch menu, which felt like good value, especially since the à la carte options are on the pricier side. The potato sourdough was nice, although I personally didn’t love the house gravy. The steak tartare was fantastic, and the blood orange sorbet was the perfect way to end the meal.

Excellent value set lunch menu and a really enjoyable experience. The steak tartare was fantastic and the pork collar was incredibly tender with delicious garnishes. Service was polite and attentive. The only downside was a slightly slow kitchen, so it’s not ideal for a very quick lunch. That said, the quality of the food made it worth the wait. Would absolutely recommend and look forward to coming back.

I’m struggling to align my experience with the many 5-star reviews here. While the interior design and ambiance are nice, the food simply didn’t deliver. We ordered eight dishes, only two of which we would consider ok. The radishes in the 100-acre radishes were high-quality, but served on a thick one-note dip that didn’t complement the vegetable. The Kashmiri saffron risotto was unfortunately inedible due to being aggressively over-salted and we sent it back after one bite. Similarly, the vegan curry felt disjointed, less like a cohesive dish and more like a collection of leftover side vegetables (roasted roots and tenderstem) dropped into a sauce. The accompanying flatbread resembling roti lacked the expected texture and flavour. On a positive note, the staff handled our feedback with grace. They proactively removed the over-seasoned dishes and the curry from our bill, which we appreciated. Perhaps it was just an off-day for a Friday afternoon, but based on this meal, the culinary execution hasn't yet caught up to the beautiful setting.

It is, without question, an ideal setting for leisurely drinks, intimate gatherings, or discreet private events. Yet Town Lounge is not merely a triumph of aesthetics. The culinary offering, overseen by the accomplished Stevie Parle, elevates the experience further still. His modern British cuisine is executed with precision and flair, breathing new life into familiar traditions while maintaining a deep respect for provenance and flavour. Each dish arrives as a thoughtful composition, as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. Equally commendable is the management, where Ema and Ausma distinguish themselves through a level of attentiveness that feels both genuine and rare. Their approach ensures that each guest is treated not as a mere patron, but as an individual of importance, an increasingly uncommon quality in today’s hospitality landscape. In sum, Town Restaurant & the Town Lounge is a venue of considerable distinction: visually arresting, gastronomically assured, and graciously managed.
