There's a particular kind of restaurant that doesn't aim to surprise you — it aims to satisfy you completely. Bancone Borough Yards is that restaurant, and it does it with quiet confidence. The pasta is handmade daily and it shows. The beef caramelle in Barolo broth with crispy cavolo nero was the standout — deeply flavoured, technically precise, the kind of bowl that makes you understand why pasta in broth is one of the great Italian ideas. The Sardinian speck with caper berries was simple, correct and as good as its reputation suggests. What elevated the whole meal was the experience around the food. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. The room at Borough Yards has real energy - open kitchen, good light, the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The negroni was well made. The pacing was right. Bancone doesn't try to wow you. It tries to do its thing beautifully and consistently - and quietly earns your loyalty without shouting for it.

Dining at Bancone is a reminder of how powerful simplicity can be when it is executed with precision. From the moment you sit down, there is a quiet confidence in everything they do, a focus on craft, flavor, and experience without unnecessary pretension. The pasta is the true centerpiece. Each dish feels intentional, perfectly balanced, and deeply satisfying. The textures are exceptional, and the flavors are clean yet rich, allowing every ingredient to speak for itself. It is the kind of cooking that does not need to impress loudly because it delivers consistently on quality. The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance between lively and refined. It feels modern, energetic, and welcoming without losing its sense of sophistication. Service is attentive and knowledgeable, guiding the experience seamlessly without ever feeling intrusive. Bancone stands out not by trying to be extravagant, but by mastering the essentials at a very high level. It is a place you return to not just for the food, but for the feeling it leaves behind. Without a doubt, one of the most memorable dining experiences in London.

4 stars for the food and atmosphere and 5the star because the service was absolutely fantastic. Bernisha took really good care of us, as it was our first time at Bancone we recommended dishes we should try and she did not let us down. We had two amazing pasta dishes, they were fresh and beautifully presented; we had the Silk Handkerchief and Herdwick hogget plus the sharing pork chop. Bernisha also recommended the fior di latte which we loved. An innovative and surprising dish.

Solid shout for a proper pasta fix that won’t empty your wallet, though you’ll definitely be rubbing elbows with your neighbours. It’s a tight, crowded space, but the busy atmosphere gives it a great energy. Service can be a bit hit-and-miss when they’re slammed, so don't expect a leisurely chat. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced, even if it doesn't always blow your mind. The signature "silk handkerchiefs" are easily the highlight—delicate and delicious. However, their Japanese-fusion pasta was a proper curveball and completely beyond my imagination. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a quick, lively meal before heading back out. A great spot for affordable, quality pasta if you don't mind the bustling, cramped quarters.

I don't usually leave reviews for places where I have lunch. First of all, I don't eat out very often, and secondly, I really appreciate the hard work of people in the hospitality industry so they ALL deserve 5 starts already! I had a simple plate of "Spaghetti alla Chitarra" with chilli and garlic, and I was extremely pleased with it. “Complimenti allo Chef”! Furthermore, the service was excellent. Every member of staff was friendly, polite, and happy to accommodate my requests with a smile. Good prices, good food, and a great atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to mention on the menu that filtered water is chargeable. Other than that, they fully deserve my five stars today! Thank you very much—I will definitely be back!
