How much did we love our Sunday roast? It is one the best roast selections that I have had in forever and well worth it.
I love the pub it is cosy and friendly and not too try had - just perfect on a cold afternoon in London.
The staff were sublime from the moment we walked through the door pub door until we left. They were just so friendly, attentive and patient. Thank you especially to our server, Julia J.
In terms of the food - we had all the roast meats, lamb, beef, pork and chicken. The lamb being my favourite. Both the beef and the lamb were very tender. As there were only two of us we had to juggle the choice around but again the team were so accommodating. The roasties were excellent and we were given a good sized gravy boat with plenty to go round. The bread and herb butter - excellent as were the infamous duck scotch eggs.
It wasn't cheap with the wine and cocktails but we did splash out a bit. It is definitely worth a visit and I would love to make a return visit in the not too distant future.
Wow wow wow, Sunday roast is to die for! 3 of us choose each meat pork, lamb and Beef! The lamb was flavoursome and very tender same as the beef and the pork was my favourite absolutely succulent with crispy crackling! Sunday roast isn’t just about the meat it’s the roasties and gravy! The roasties were the star of the show! Crispy fluffy and flavour was great! We also shared the duck scotch egg as a starter and the lore donut to finish! I did order an Irish coffee though it being a very small espresso shot glass £15 is a little expensive! Staff were attentive and was a good ambience around the restaurant 5/5 for me apart from the Irish coffee!
We were on holiday from Boston. Booked with the LoL a few weeks ago. Definitely a hidden hot spot mostly only locals know about. I can’t express enough how lovely the meal, service, and atmosphere was. Jack, our server, along with supporting staff, was very accommodating and friendly. The cocktails were fantastic. The extensive wine list was amazing. We even paired our dessert with port wines. From start to finish, I can’t wait to go back. Before leaving, we went downstairs to the pub for one last drink. Bartender downstairs was so helpful and welcoming. Guests in the pub were friendly. Just a good positive vibe all around. We may stop in again for a pint on our final night in London. Hands down, the BEST meal we’ve had in London.
Cosy, rustic, and has a warm elegance to it. Lovely, accommodating staff who are full of beans. Place is dog friendly but only downstairs not at the restaurant upstairs so we had the smaller snack plates downstairs. Wine and bloody Mary’s were perfect. The food had so much flavour, every bite was delicious. Excited to come back to try the restaurant.
Superb! Good food, good service, and athmosphere! Love everything. Roger helped us a lot, from food to wine recommendations. We ordered beef fat popcorn, beef rib (amazing), aubergine toast, pork loin (excellent) and hake (amazing). We enjoyed the wine and beer selections....the Lore PA and the pint Guy PA were amazing! Booking is recommended.
