I lived in SF my whole life until I got married and moved to the south bay but never got a chance to try this place, until my hubby and I did our now annual staycation. And boy were we pleasantly surprised!
Best homemade spaghetti EVER! I told my hubby, I'd come back just for this pasta pomodoro. Perfect al dente and chew from a homemade pasta vs dried smothered with a perfect pomodoro sauce and baby tomatoes and parm that made the hot dish almost creamy. Just reviewing that dish cuz it was incredible.
Service was also impeccable. Also got to see the Pied Piper mural by a famous early 20th century artist Mayfield Parrish that our neighboring table shared with us. Cute.
I loved that they serve olives and chips as a complimentary snack—and the best part is they’re unlimited! Having Port wine on the menu was a huge plus for me. The burger was cooked perfectly to my liking, and the salmon was very fresh. The atmosphere is great, making it the perfect spot to grab a drink with friends at night if you're staying at the hotel.
Not particularly like nor hate the style, just regular bar style with nothing identifiable. Waiter is very friendly, and there’s a mandarin speaking family kinda loud all the way while they are eating, affecting other customers obviously.
Food is ok, location is perfectly for hangout.
Food is okay, oysters were delicious but grilled cheese and tomato was not so great. Best "Old Fashion" I've had in a long time, and I'm not a big whiskey drinker. Overall, the old school atmosphere gives this place charm and makes up for the food. Service was great and attentive. The main attraction in the bar is the art, amazing piece over the decorative bar. Be sure to see the historical items in the hallway and the glass atrium.
