This place opened quite recently, but it seems like it’s already been here since a long time. The food is excellent, competently cooked, delicious. Whoever is the chef, they have already mastered the art of cooking simple yet sophisticated dishes that are full of flavour, revealing a great mastery in the art of preparing the gorgeous plates of food that are enjoyed by virtually everyone present in the restaurant. I had the anchovies to start with, and I paired this dish with the Ferrari, an excellent Brut that worked perfectly with the saltiness of the butter and anchovies combo. The great start was bettered with the arrival of my fettuccine with a duck and porcini ragu’, probably one of the best pasta dishes I had in the last 25 years; and I’m Italian, I’m not easily impressed with pasta, but this was absolutely divine. It was balanced and absolutely perfect in texture, it was elegant, yet punchy. After this incredible dish, I chose the mackerel, one of my favourite fishes, and also a very difficult fish to cook, as it presents many challenges even for the most experienced cook. This was treated with care, it was perfect, served with shaved fennel and the red pepper and almond dressing, nothing was overpowering, each ingredient harmoniously created a balance that was delicate and tasty. The dessert I had was the tiramisu doughnuts, a perfect ending to the perfect meal. I forgot to mention that I paired the fettuccine with Pieropan Soave, and the mackerel with the Pietramore Pecorino. The competent suggestions for the pairing need to be credited to the wonderful waitress that was extremely helpful, competent, smiling and caring. I also talked to the sommelier later on to decide which wine to pair with the mackerel, and he was as charming and as helpful as the waitress. The service throughout was absolutely delightful, a rarity nowadays in central London. The place is buzzing, it has a nice atmosphere, I can really see myself going back there very often to taste the whole menu. It really seems that this gem of a place is destined to stay and I believe this is probably one of the best new addition to the London dining scene. A big BRAVO to all of you guys. Thank you!
